DIY: Notebook

Image
I really enjoy writing in notebooks, which document a range of things- from my to-do lists to enjoyable quotes from members of my family that I can look back on later and laugh. I currently use two notebooks and I realize that it becomes very difficult for me to keep it organized since I write everything in there. I decided that I should probably designate notebooks for certain things and so I came up with this idea of making my own notebooks since I can design them to look whatever way I want them and not pay any money for them. Here is my final result:

DIY Business Inspiration: Litter SF

Image
On Friday, I watched Friends with Kids at the Arclight in Hollywood. It was such an awesome movie and we were able to stay afterwards for a little Q&A with the director, Jennifer Westfeldt, and Jon Hamm. Totally worth my dinero and time. Then on Saturday, I was watching Shark Tank and that is when I came across the wonders of Litter SF . They are two sisters, Rachael and Mackenzie, who started making their own headpieces and eventually it expanded to other types of handmade body jewelry. Eventually, their orders became a little more than they could handle and that is why they were seeking investors in their company. It was interesting because I took an engineering entrepreneurship class and they discussed the fact that most businesses fail when they are trying to make a shift from a small business to a big business and that the best advice is to sell to someone who knows how to handle these types of situations. Litter SF was reaching this point where they were outgrowing the i

So here is me breaking down a Black Keith Haring Cuff Bracelet bracelet like I would in my head: ASOS Modern Armour Cuff Bracelet$26.86 Hive & Honey Cuff Bracelet, $22     Sharpie's Markers Scribbles 3-Dimensional Paint           Keith Haring Cuff Bracelet, $165 The great thing about this project is you can custom make the design to whatever you want.

Bracelet Trend? Kanye West approves and so do a bunch of other men.

I have been and will be busy with phone interviews, turning in apps, and ebaying lately.. but I guess it is better than not being busy at all! While procrastinating, I saw this article on the NY Times Fashion and Style Section entitled Brothers at the Wrist . The article claims that after Kanye's performance at last years Coachella music festival, fashion and music blogs referred to these bohemian wrist tangles as "Kanye Bracelets." Kanye at Coachella 2011 As a result, there has been a surge of sales in these types of bracelets. I was totally unaware that they have been deemed as so and I first noticed a bracelet trend among DIY blogs like Honestly WTF , but more about stacking different types of bracelets (not solely "bohemian wrist tangles"/ "kanye bracelets"), which inspired me to create my own DIY bracelet . Honestly WTF I had no idea that this bracelet trend had become/has been popular among men. According to the article, there are sighting

DIY: MARNI Necklace

I've been wanting to make this MARNI Necklace for a while. Things You'll Need:   polymer clay, ribbon, jewelry wire, scissors, jewelry wire pliers/cutters, glue, an oven

DIY: Wall Art Using Paint Chips

Image
I decided the apartment needed new wall art that didn't cost me much money. So I headed to Home Depot and picked up a bunch of paint chips. I seriously thought I needed to be stealthy because I was taking around 6 chips of the same color, but now that I think about it... I doubt anyone cares I am taking too many free samples. And here is my finished piece: Things You Will Need To Do This Yourself: posterboard (for the background/the thing you will paste the chips on), glue (i used tacky glue), scissors, a ruler, a pencil, and lots and lots of paint chips (found at Home Depot, Loews, etc.), a frame This project cost me zero dollars, since everything I needed was either free or I already had it. So I would definitely want to make another one to go with the one I just made. Here are some other paint chip diy art projects that I would like to try: How About Orange Home and Garden Hopefully, I get it done soon. Maybe after I turn in another 2 apps. Also, I fi
