The show is set in the 1910s - 1920 and the cast's wardrobe is simply amazing. Here is a picture of the young ladies of Downton Abbey for the August 2011 issue of Vogue UK:
Not in Edwardian style clothes, but I thought it was such a great picture.
I know that the 1920's was a popular trend on the runway, but I can't help but wonder if some of the Spring 2012 fashion was inspired by Downton Abbey as other shows such as Mad Men has been in the past. The show starts off in the 1910's with long dresses/skirts, but I believe once the 1920's hit, the skirts/dresses get shorter. They briefly mention the change in style after the war is over, but you still see them in longer skirts and dresses.
Seriously in love with Ferretti's looks! Will these looks be a predominant trend for 2012? I guess we will have to wait and see...
P.S. Happy New Year!!
